FOR OFFSHORE WIND FARMS

Marine Aids to Navigation for Offshore Wind Farms

Navigational safety is essential in offshore wind farm operations. Sabik Offshore provides a full range of marking systems – visual, audible, and digital – designed to ensure safe navigation around offshore structures in all conditions.

Self-Contained Marine Lanterns

Self contained lanterns are solar powered LED Marine Lanterns used when mains power is not yet available.

Marine Lanterns

Marine Lanterns provide a vital signal to mariners that an obstruction is in their way.

ID Marking

The identification numbers of a turbine can be lit with a floodlight, or a separate ID Sign board and light can be used.

Fog Signal

The Fog Signal isused to emit a sound signal with a 2 NM range during low visibility conditions.

Digital Marking with AIS

The Sabik Offshore AIS (Automatic Identification System) provides a digital aid to navigation, ensuring wind turbines and substations are shown on digital maps.

Visibility Meter

The visibility meter is used as a control device for the fog signal.

Brightness Transmitter

The brightness transmitter measures the ambient brightness. If the brightness falls below 150 Lux, the marking of the offshore wind farm for vessel traffic is switched on via the central SCADA system. As soon as the measured value exceeds 150 Lux, it is switched off again.

Marking Light Control System

The MLCS is designed as the central point of control for the marking system on a turbine. It provides communication to the ParkMaster and control center as well as battery back up.

ParkMaster

The ParkMaster server is the nervous system of the marking system. It gathers all information and allows communication between the control center and devices.

Aviation Obtruction Lighting for Offshore Wind Farms

Offshore wind farms rely on a range of aviation safety lights, from simple warning lights to advanced special‑operation variants. Working together, these lights maintain a safe and secure airspace for aircraft operating in the area.

Medium Intensity
Aviation Obstruction Light

Medium‑intensity obstruction lights act as the standard aviation warning on offshore wind turbines, providing 360‑degree visibility to ensure pilots can clearly identify the turbine.

Low Intensity
Aviation Obstruction Light

Low‑intensity obstruction lights are mounted on objects that could present a risk to aircraft, providing steady illumination to help pilots identify and avoid these hazards.

Low Intensity Tower Lights

Tower lights act as a secondary communication point, giving approaching pilots a clearer reference of the turbine’s height and physical extent.

Heli-Hoist Lights

The Heli‑Hoist light provides a clear visual signal to the pilot that the turbine blades are fully stopped, indicating that it is safe to approach and begin hoisting operations.

Helicopter Corridor Lights

Helicopter corridor lights provide powerful, targeted illumination that forms a clear approach path for pilots navigating toward landing pads within an offshore wind farm.

Aviation Light Control System

The ALCS is designed as the central point of control for the marking system on a turbine. It provides communication to the ParkMaster and control center as well as battery back up.

ParkMaster

The ParkMaster server is the nervous system of the marking system. It gathers all information and allows communication between the control center and devices.

Lighting & Railing solutions, keeping offshore workers Safe

Ensuring safety on offshore wind turbine platforms is crucial for maintaining an efficient and secure working environment.

Safety Lights

Safety lights positioned strategically around the platform ensure a clearly illuminated workspace, making movement safer even in low‑visibility conditions.

Flood Lights

High‑powered floodlights serve a wide range of uses, from illuminating towers to lighting up foundations. We offer adapted versions for multiple application needs.

Boat Landing Lights

Boat landing lights brightly illuminate the access ladder, ensuring personnel can safely transfer from a vessel onto the turbine platform.

Railings

As the system’s fundamental element, the aluminum railing ensures a secure perimeter that minimizes fall risks in offshore environments. Its modular construction offers versatile configuration options for various platform designs.

Gates

Providing everything from swing to sliding gate configurations, we deliver a safe, versatile access point for offshore platforms—designed to integrate effortlessly with the EverSafe railing system.

Platform Accessories

Completing the railing system, a range of accessories adds the final touches—from kick plates to covers, signage, reflectors, and brackets.
